Who We Are

Portland State University Human Resource Management Association (HRMA) is a student-led organization affiliated with the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Our goal as a chapter is to get students excited about the field of HR and help create connections with community professionals, learning experiences, and resources to help facilitate the transition from HR student to HR practitioner.

Join us on April 30th for an insightful panel event featuring esteemed guest speakers Nikki Shutte and Amy Pena from our affiliated organizations. They will delve into how PHRMA supports emerging leaders in preparing for and taking the SHRM-CP exam, as well as how SHRM aids HR professionals on a national scale. Topics will include the SHRM student-to-professional mentor program, the SHRM competency model, SHRM-CP certification, various SHRM member programs, effective study techniques for the exam, and the array of discounts available to students, covering study materials, membership, and test fees. Don't miss out on this valuable discussion!

PSU HRMA had a very successful event Tuesday night, April 16th, with Dress For Success Oregon! Our AI in the job search presentation to the DFS clients went great and we are so proud of what we accomplished! This is truly a milestone for our student chapter and we are grateful to get to make a positive impact on our community outside of PSU.
